04.09.2010 External shot of Sirkeci Gari station. Unsure as to the history of the train in the shot, perhaps somebody can enlighten me? Also, why pink?

Compagnie Orientaux / Oriental Railways (CO, Compagnie d'exploitation des chemins de fer Orientaux) started to built its network from Banja Luka, Saloniki (Thessaloniki) and Constantinople (Istanbul). They had ten small 2-axle construction/shunting tank locomotives (401-408 and 411-412), built by Tubize and Krauss. This CO 406 -> TCDD 2251 is the only one of them remaining (and possibly the only of them working at all) in Turkey. It was preserved and plinthed in the 1960s.
