21.04.2018 Instead of visiting Otanmäki the engine driver invited me to the warm, machine grease-scented engine room of the Alsthom locomotive. There lies two of these MGO V16 BSHR diesel engines familiar from the Dv12 locomotive. In addition, we discussed the recruitment of engine drivers for VR. I guess the engine room of a locomotive is the most suitable place to study locomotive machinery as well as the depths of an eternal engine driver applicant’s mind. We came to the conclusion that coincidence has a great part in this process.
